The MALCO Creative website is currently under construction. Should be up and running by October 32nd ;-) MALCO is the official home for Music, Art, and Literature by John R. Smith.

That’s me.

I’m mostly known as the co-founder of the 80s band Nu Shooz, but I’ve always made visual art too.

In winter 2021, MALCO Creative will release the first graphic novel of a trilogy. “Myoko” is the story of a girl born and raised on a fishing boat during the time of the Meiji Restoration.

Looking forward to getting these comic pages out in the world.
